CBAM Advisory and Reporting

We calculate the embedded emissions data your buyer in the EU is asking for and run your CBAM reporting and verification process from start to finish.

How does CBAM affect your exports?

More than 40 per cent of Türkiye's exports go to the European Union, and the EU has added a critical condition to that trade called the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM). For products within scope, embedded emissions reporting is now effectively mandatory for exporters.

To protect your competitive position, all you need to do is have your product's embedded emissions calculated and give your buyer verifiable data. Karbonsa manages this entire complex process on your behalf, from exposure analysis through to verification readiness.

WHAT HAS CHANGED FOR YOU

What is your buyer in the EU asking for now?

  • They want real carbon emissions data at product level.
  • They expect that data to be verified by an accredited body.
  • Missing data means a high default value for your buyer and extra cost.
  • A supplier that provides accurate data becomes the buyer's preferred choice.

Is your product within the scope of CBAM?

The regulation currently covers six carbon intensive sectors. If the CN code of your product falls into one of these groups, the obligation concerns you.

Iron and Steel

Rebar, pipe, profile, sheet and similar products.

Aluminium

Plate, foil, profile and alloys.

Cement

Clinker and Portland cement.

Fertilisers

Ammonia, nitric acid and nitrogenous fertilisers.

Hydrogen

An emissions burden that changes with the production method.

Electricity

Cross border electricity trade.

Not: The exact scope depends on your product's CN code. You can check straight away whether your product code falls within scope using the scope query in the CBAM Financial Calculator; we also clarify this for you at the first step of the advisory process. Scope is expected to widen in the years ahead towards other products in the EU emissions trading system.

What Karbonsa takes on in the CBAM process

We run the process on your behalf from start to finish.

Scope and CN code analysis

We review the customs tariff codes of your products, establish which of them create an obligation and set out your carbon risk profile.

On site data collection

Instead of making desk based assumptions about your processes, we examine them on site at your production facility. Our engineers identify direct and indirect emission sources and compile the technical data with care.

Embedded emissions calculation

We calculate the carbon inside your product with the methodology the EU accepts. The aim is to put your real and lower figures on the table and avoid the burden of high default values.

Verification readiness

So that you pass the verification carried out by an accredited body without difficulty, we structure your activity data and evidence set in line with the standard and hand it over to you.

Reporting and declaration support

We prepare reports that comply with the official EU CBAM system and organise the data to be submitted to your buyer and, where required, to the competent authorities.

Abatement and cost strategy

To bring your carbon cost down for good, we guide you through investment options such as energy efficiency and the switch to renewable energy.

We carry out the embedded emissions calculation according to the methodology CBAM itself defines in the regulation. Because the accuracy of your data also depends on the inputs coming from your suppliers, we complete that side with our Supply Chain Sustainability service.

FREE TOOL

See the carbon cost your exports will create for your customer in the EU

A supplier that presents real emissions data gives its buyer a low and predictable cost and becomes the preferred supplier. If you stay on high default values the bill grows and the order is put at risk. See that difference in a few minutes with the free CBAM Financial Calculator.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

The embedded emissions data is produced by the manufacturer, in other words by the exporting company. The legal duty to declare sits with the importer in the EU, but you are the one who generates the product level emissions data that the importer will declare. Karbonsa produces this data on your behalf from end to end, from exposure analysis through to verification readiness.
